Age: 1–4 years

Inspired by: Montessori method (sensory activity, independent discovery)

🌟 Activity Goal: To develop tactile senses, color recognition, and the child's ability to identify different textures.

📋 You will need:

  • A small box (or a Christmas gift bag)

  • Various objects with different textures and shapes: a soft red ribbon, a rough pine cone, a shiny Christmas tree decoration, a soft fabric toy, and similar items.

🎉 Activity Steps:

Preparation: Hide all the objects in the box or Christmas bag. Some items can be placed deeper inside to encourage the child to search for them later.

Start: Allow the child to pull out one item at a time. As the child takes out an item, help them describe it. For example: "This ribbon is soft and red, like a Christmas decoration."

Game Variations: Encourage the child to guess the item with their eyes closed, using only their sense of touch. You can ask, "Is it soft or rough?"

Reflection: After the activity, ask the child to choose their favorite item and explain why they liked it the most.

🧠 Benefits of the Activity:

  • Develops tactile senses and the ability to recognize textures.

  • Promotes language skills – the child learns to describe objects.

  • Encourages curiosity and independence – the child discovers hidden objects on their own.
