Step 1: Preparation and Sensory Exploration
Take your little one on a barefoot walk through a grassy yard or meadow. Each step becomes a discovery—soft grass, flower stems, pinecones, cool earth. As you walk, name the sensations out loud: “soft,” “ticklish,” “cool.” This simple walk turns into a language-building experience, helping your child connect body sensations with words.
Step 2: Reflection and Sharing
After your walk, sit together in the meadow. Reflect on what you both felt: “Where was it rough?” “Where did it feel nice?” Mimic the sounds or expressions that match each sensation. These playful reflections build your child’s vocabulary and help them make sense of their sensory and emotional world.
