Seaside Expedition" encourages children to nurture their curiosity, explore the world, and develop independence. Let your child decide what they want to explore—sand, sea water, or seaside objects like pebbles and shells.
Start with a "treasure hunt" by the sea, where the child collects various interesting objects. Discuss each item—how it might have arrived on the shore and its significance in the marine ecosystem. The child can perform simple experiments with collected sea water, discussing its properties and importance to marine life. They can also build sandcastles, using found objects as decorations to inspire their imagination.
After the expedition, take a break and discuss what the child learned and enjoyed the most. Encourage them to express their thoughts about the exploration and create a story or drawing about their adventure.
This activity fosters the child’s curiosity, ability to explore and reflect, and helps instill a sense of responsibility toward the environment. It also broadens their understanding of the world and encourages creative thinking.
