Age: 3–7

Inspiration:Ā Reggio Emilia methodology (independent creativity and reflection)

Materials:

  • An empty jar or box (can be decorated with stickers)

  • Paper sheets, colored pencils, or markers

  • A template for a child's hand contour (can be drawn by hand)

  • Small symbolic items (a stone, a small toy, a photo)

How it works:

1ļøāƒ£ Let's create a time capsule! Tell the child that you are creating a "2024 Memory Box" that you will only open next year. Decorate the box or jar together.

2ļøāƒ£ Writing down wishes and dreams!Ask the child to draw themselves as "Me in 2024." Let the child draw what they like to do, who their friends are, or the games they play. On another sheet – "Me in 2025" – ask the child to draw how they would like to be (for example, learning to swim, riding a bike).

3ļøāƒ£ Memory collection!Place important small items in the box: a favorite sticker, a small toy, a found stone – anything that can remind the child of the past year.

4ļøāƒ£ Seal it until next year!Close the time capsule and promise to open it on December 31 of the following year. It will be a magical discovery after a whole year!

Benefits:

Encourages reflection, creativity, and independence. The child learns to value memories and create dreams for the future.
